"Can it be true? Whatever it was...can it be you? Whatever it was I seen last time I dreamed I knew what I would do. Can it be love?"
I am so in love with this track off of Blu's latest album. This whole album is centered around a soulful and rhythmic heavy mood. I've probably said this before on here - or at least to my fellow hip hop heads. I am yours if you can rap over an amazing melody....especially something jazzy/soulful.

Female MCs
I've never actually enjoyed too many female MCs out there...although, I will always have a spot in my heart for Salt 'N Pepa, Jean Grae (an amazing storyteller) and Lauryn Hill (even though she don't like us white folks) as well as Queen Latifah (I mean, she's an amazing business woman...with a solid career singing jazz standards...now ladies, thats a first) and Monie Love (Jungle Brothers, what what?!?)...but DON'T get me started on Lil' Kim or Trina (gag me with a rope)...
Getting off topic here but I heard this on DopeBoyz this morning (I really enjoy their blog because they have great insight to new music that should be heard today) but when I heard this piece:
I couldn't help but think that Nitty Scott sounded an awful lot like One Self:
I personally dig One Self's style a lot more....

Sweet On You
I love Sirius' 'Heart and Soul' station...they are kicking out the jams that I haven't heard in many moon doggies.
If I was serenaded this today, well, you know I'd be under his spell. Haha...those Lo-Key?'s were smooth.
"I don't like much candy in my tummy but I'm sweet on you" - That is all. Do you need any more of a reason to fall in love all over again with this group? What are these dudes up to?

Neo-Soul
I discovered this Amsterdam duo on neosoulcafe.com and felt an instant connection to their beats...not to mention when searching youtube I came across 'She Was Fly' with a guest track appearance from Eric Roberson (Erro), who is one of my favorite R&B singers at this time. I have to give him a lot of respect. He wants to get his hands dirty and work on as many fun projects as he can. Respect.
With that being said, I have to share this link because it does something to me. I feel like I can step outside with my eyes close and be led to you. It touches my very core.

Something For The Weekend
Its already Monday and I want so badly for Friday to arrive.
My weekends never consist of a threesome with popped champagne in bed nor in my imaginary flat in NYC. My imagination can't even let it take me to that place but I like this Ben Westbeech guy. Brit musicians tend to have a lasting impression on me.
I can't seem to fix my link issue...but here it is:

No More Drama
I find this song absolutely refreshing right now for the hip hop community. Miranda gives it such a fun sultry and jazz vibe too.

Feel No Pain
Sade...I feel you girl. Mama been laid off. Well, not really. I'm not a mama nor did I get laid off but I am feeling some money woes.
